"Let them build Me a Sanctuary" Exodus 25:8 Thousands of Israel Experience participants brought this verse to life in 1996 by helping to create the outdoor sanctuary in Pinat Shorashim. With a floor depicting the symbols of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, an aron kodesh (holy ark) including the Seven Species and ancient Gezer Calendar, our sanctuary provides a site rich in spirituality celebrating our connection to the Land of Israel. "ועשו לי מקדש ושכנתי בתוכם", שמות פרק כה':ח' אלפי בני נוער השתתפו בשנת 1996 בתכנית "החוויה הישראלית", וחלקם, החיו פסוק זה בעת בניית בית הכנסת בחיק הטבע בפינת שורשים. רצפת הפסיפס עם סמלי 12 השבטים, ארון הקודש המעוטר בשבעת המינים ולוח גזר העתיק - חוברים יחד לחוג את הקשר שלנו לאדמת ישראל. הבניה הושלמה / Product תהליך הבניה / Process "Yehudah and Yisrael dwelt in safety under the grapevine and fig tree" Kings I 5:5. Pinat Shorashim's Sukkat Shalom is a tribute to fruits of Eretz Yisrael. Participants not only built the sukkah, but also planted the Four and Seven Species surrounding it. Today this is a popular site for wedding and Bar/Bat Mitzvah receptions as well as Biblical meals and hands-on educational programs. מסגרת הסוכה נבנתה, במהלך עונה אחת בשנת 1994, בידי בני נוער מן התפוצות. בקרבת הסוכה ניטעו שבעת המינים וסוככים עליה הגפן והתאנה. כמתואר בפסוק "וישב יהודה וישראל לבטח איש תחת גפנו ותחת תאנתו מדן ועד באר שבע כל ימי שלמה" מלכים א' ה':ה'. בעונות הבאות יצרו משתתפים נוספים רצפה מפסיפס של שבעת המינים וסמלים יהודיים אחרים. הבניה הושלמה / Product תהליך הבניה / Process The Talmud teaches us (Shabbat 133b) of the joy of Hiddur Mitzvah - the beautification of a Mitzvah. Delightful mosaic floor tiles adorn much of Pinat Shorashim. Built as part of a thoughtful educational experience focusing on the role of the individual in community - and the power of community and cooperation - these tiles depict symbols, art and modern midrash from our tradition. They allow us to learn, teach and celebrate in a more beautiful setting. מסכת שבת בתלמוד מלמדת על הידור מצווה ובפינת שורשים מייפות ומעטרות רצפות פסיפס את הפינות השונות. התהליך החינוכי של בנית הרצפות שם דגש על תפקידו של היחיד בתוך הקהילה והכוח של שיתוף הפעולה.הפסיפסים השונים בנויים מסמלים, ומדרשים אומנותיים הלקוחים מן המסורת היהודית, לאחר שיבוצם בפינות השונות משמשים הפסיפסים רקע יפהפה התומך בתוכן הנלמד. הבניה הושלמה / Product תהליך הבניה / Process Pinat Shorashim includes several sculpture gardens built as an expression of our responsibilitiy as partners with God in creation. Genesis 2:15 teaches that God put people in the Garden to till it and tend it. פינת גן עדן בנויה משרשרת פסלי בטון צבעוניים המציגים את חיות, צמחים, מאורות ועוד. בנוסף לסיפורי הבריאה ואדם וחוה, הפינה מבטאת את האחריות המוטלת עלינו, בני האדם כשותפים במעשה בריאת העולם. "ויקח ה' אלהים את האדם ויניחהו בגן העדן לעָבדה ולשָמרה" בראשית, פרק ב': טו'. הבניה הושלמה / Product תהליך הבניה / Process Built in the summer of 1998, Miriam's Well introduces the Bat Kol (female voice) and contributions of women to our Jewish heritage. The hundreds of women who worked on the mosaic and relief design learned about female leaders in our tradition. This is our way of helping to prepare the next generation of female leaders for our people. בקיץ 1998 נבנתה באר מרים המייצגת את קולן ופועלן של נשים מנהיגות במסורת היהודית. מאות המשתתפות אשר לקחו חלק ביצירת תמונות הפסיפס והתבליטים שמסביב לבאר, למדו על נשים מנהיגות אלו ואחרות. זו דרכנו להכין את דור המנהיגות הבא של עם ישראל. הבניה הושלמה / Product תהליך הבניה / Process
