A dozen prisoners are sitting in a circle, Passover Haggadahs open on their laps. The group - convicted murderers, tried sex offenders and former drug dealers - are sitting together, wearing regular street clothes, and discussing the symbolic significance of the Exodus story. "The Haggadah says `we were slaves' and not `they were slaves' because we were all in Egypt," Rabbi Miri Gold, who is leading the study session, says to the group. "In the Exodus story, we leave the narrow, dark place of Egypt and go to light and freedom. My wish for you is that you all become free men."
